Aadhira :
On Wednesday the 29th of January, my year group took a trip down to the Dun Laoghaire library.
When we got there, the head of the library gave us a tour through the three main floors. We were told about many of the events and services that the library provides. We also learned a bit about the architecture and history behind it. Many people had never been to the library before and even those who had were really awe-struck. It's a really beautiful place and has a lovely atmosphere; I could practically see myself reading or studying there. The way it's built is really gorgeous and all the big windows let in the light and add a peaceful feeling.
After the tour, people who weren't members yet got library cards and then we were all free to explore the library. Some people even borrowed a book or two to take home with them. All in all, the trip was very enjoyable and I am very happy that we got to go!

On Wednesday the 29 of January there was a first year trip to the Lexicon library in Dun Laoghaire. We were given a tour of the whole library which showed us all three floors, including the main one for our age group which is floor 1, which has books appropriate for our age group and interests. The library has many facilities including iPads, laptops, computers and even two 3D printers for any small projects you may need to make.
There is plenty of study space for those studying for any exams or upcoming tests or who jest need to complete assignments in peace. The Lexicon has a very unique design compared to the surrounding area but has become one of the most visited parts of Dun Laoghaire and is well appreciated by the community. We also were shown the meeting rooms up on the Third floor which are used by certain colleges for practice interviews.
In one of the meeting rooms the also have the piano of famous Irish writer James Joyce which they hope to get a display case soon so everyone can appreciate it. Overall it was a very good trip to see and learn about the library and I hope it continues to be appreciated by everyone for a long time to come.
