2nd year Graphic Scores
Our Year 2 music students have been unleashing their inner avant-garde composers by creating their own graphic scores!
Moving beyond traditional notes on a stave, this project challenges them to use abstract symbols, lines, and colours to create a visual "musical map."
Each student decided what their unique symbols represent—from a bold red line indicating a crescendo (getting louder) to a swirling blue shape suggesting a chaotic texture.
This work teaches fundamental concepts like pitch, tempo, and dynamics while giving them incredible creative freedom in how they write and perform their own compositions.
