Dear Parents and Guardians,
Firstly, a huge thanks to all of you who attended the various events at the school last week. It was lovely to meet and chat to so many of you. Thanks for all your support over the year and I hope everyone has a lovely summer.
I want to bring you up to speed on improvements that will be happening in the school over the summer:
Poppy Centre Classrooms:
Addition of extra space in the main area
Creation of 2 sensory areas
Addition of a new classroom

NEW ASD classroom
The new ASD classroom sensory room and area for daily living skills will be located upstairs columban and we are hopeful that all refurbishment/building works will be completed over the summer.

Wood work Room
The DES are funding the complete refurbishment of the existing woodwork room.
|
Technology room
The DES are funding a brand new Technology room which will be located in COL 4. We are delighted to be able to introduce the new subject Technology for our new First Years and our TYs next year.

As you will be aware from my previous correspondence Sallynoggin Educate Together will be located at the rear of our school in temporary accommodation for a period of 2 years while their new school is being built
We are very excited about our interim upgrades and we are waiting on the final decision from the DES and more extensive investment in HCCS.
On the following pages you will find details of the Book rental scheme and the school uniform.
We are looking forward to welcoming students back to school on the 26th/27th August. We will be in touch in August with the schedule for the phased reopening of HCCS.
Please note the school office will close on Friday 17th June and reopen on the 15th August.
Reports will be live on VSware from the 16th June.

Appendix 1 Book rental and School Contributions
Here in HCCS , we run a Book Rental Scheme for all students. This allows our students to rent their textbooks for the entire duration of their time in Holy Child. All books must be returned at the end of the school year. If books are not returned parents may be charged a fee for the cost of the books. The Fees for the academic year are 2022-2023. We will accept payment online through easy payments https://pay.easypaymentsplus.com/feepay1v2.aspx?id=1994 or at the school office.
First Year Fees are €160 for the year which can be broken down as follows.

Appendix 2 School Uniform 2022-2023
- Please ensure that all items of uniform are clearly marked with your son/daughter's name.
- Uniforms should be kept in good condition.
- Students must wear plain black shoes.
- Jewellery:Earrings - discreet studs worn in the ear lobes are acceptable. Under health and safety procedures, all jewellery may need to be removed during practical
classes. Additional jewellery may be confiscated.
- All students are expected to wear school uniform coming to and going from school and to be neat and tidy in appearance. Students who come to school without the full uniform may be sent home to change.
- Only discreet make-up is permitted. Students will be asked to remove excessive make-up including but not limited to; false eyelashes, fake tan, false nails.
- Students must wear a navy or black jacket.
- 1stand 2nd Years must wear the Junior Uniform as listed below.
- Parents have the option of purchasing the uniform inUniformityor they can purchase any of the items in most department stores(Dunnes Stores, Penneys, Tesco, M&S etc.)
- The school tracksuit top must be purchased fromUniformity. We recommend opting to get the initials embroidered on the sleeve.
- The junior and senior school tie will be available to purchase from the school office.
- Parents can purchase an iron crest from the school office if they choose to buy a plain navy jumper from any of the high street stores.
- Third Years can remain in their current uniform however if you need to purchase new items for your son/daughter over the summer please purchase from the list below.
