Letter to all parents

2nd June 2022

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Firstly, a huge thanks to all of you who attended the various events at the school last week. It was lovely to meet and chat to so many of you. Thanks for all your support over the year and I hope everyone has a lovely summer.

I want to bring you up to speed on improvements that will be happening in the school over the summer:

Poppy Centre Classrooms:

Addition of extra space in the main area

Creation of 2 sensory areas

Addition of a new classroom

NEW ASD classroom

The new ASD classroom sensory room and area for daily living skills will be located upstairs columban and we are hopeful that all refurbishment/building works will be completed over the summer.

Wood work Room

The DES are funding the complete refurbishment of the existing woodwork room.

Technology room

The DES are funding a brand new Technology room which will be located in COL 4. We are delighted to be able to introduce the new subject Technology for our new First Years and our TYs next year.

As you will be aware from my previous correspondence Sallynoggin Educate Together will be located at the rear of our school in temporary accommodation for a period of 2 years while their new school is being built

We are very excited about our interim upgrades and we are waiting on the final decision from the DES and more extensive investment in HCCS.

On the following pages you will find details of the Book rental scheme and the school uniform.

We are looking forward to welcoming students back to school on the 26th/27th August. We will be in touch in August with the schedule for the phased reopening of HCCS.

Please note the school office will close on Friday 17th June and reopen on the 15th August.

Reports will be live on VSware from the 16th June.

Have a lovely summer break
