We will be extending the romance of Valentines day to the week beginning 24th of February for Love My Library Week!
Hopefully this week long event will start some budding love affairs with reading.
Events planned during the week:
- There will be a blind date with a book display, encourage your students to take a chance on love. I will have a section of easier reading books for the more reluctant readers.
- Through the week, during English classes, each class will join me for a speed book dating event. There will be different genre tables set up, with the students spending a few minutes with each book. There is a short survey after they read each book to help them decide if they want to bring the book home.
- Sheets will be available in the library for random acts of kindness. Students will be encouraged to nominate someone they admire for a gift - it could be a family member or their favourite teacher. At the end of the week we will get some flowers for each nominee.
- There will be a 'why I love my library' wall, where the students can write about why they love their library so much. Students and teachers are all welcome to fill this in.
