Awards Ceremony

Last week we celebrated the achievements of so many of our students.

Our prize giving day is the biggest day in our school calendar because it is here that we publicly recognise the achievements of those amongst us who strive to achieve our school motto "Beart ages Brithair - Actions and words"

The Cornelia Connelly Cup - Junior Student of the Year:Ciara O’Connor

This 3rd Year student is a highly motivated learner. They are helpful and kind to their peers and to staff. This student is described as an exceptional and enthusiastic learner who is eager to achieve her goals. They are positive about all aspects of school life. They quietly go above and beyond to complete their work. She is a role model for other students and is very deserving of this award.

The Cornelia Connelly Cup Senior Student of the Year:Zach Nocum

The senior student of the year has been described as exceptional. This student is a diligent, hardworking individual who always strives to achieve the very best. They are kind and always willing to impart their knowledge to their peers. This student also consistently produces work to the highest level but always has a willingness to learn and improve. He is an outstanding student who is both respectful and kind to peers and teachers. He has an unbelievable work ethic and is always eager to succeed. I cannot think of any student more deserving of this award.

The Lola Heffernan Cup Winner: Shineka Greene

This award is named after a former Principal of the school, Lola Heffernan. This trophy is awarded to the student who has freely given of their time and talents to promote school activities. The qualities we look for when awarding this trophy are: generosity, enthusiasm and a positive attitude to school life.

This year’s winner has shown all of these qualities in every aspect of their school life, as well as in their contributions to the community around them. This student has acted as a strong and positive role model throughout their time here in Holy Child. This is a student who has always been positive about their school experience here. This student is very caring and has always ensured that all students are involved and that no one is left out. This student is more than grateful for their opportunities presented here and the positive and nurturing relationships with teachers. Without doubt this is a student who has never been afraid to speak their mind and offer solutions in a practical and wise way beyond their years. This student has been committed, mature and dependable throughout all challenges faced. She has been described as a true leader who continues to show great determination and fortitude against challenges and achieve her goals.

1st Year Award Winners!

The winner of the Academic award in 1st year is the very well deserving, Dima Matvieiev

The winner of the award for Endeavour goes to a very hard working student, Brooke O’ Brien

The Spirit of Holy Child in 1st year is awarded to an eager, hardworking and enthusiastic student. Teachers in particular have commended this student for their kindness and trustworthiness, well done - Andrei Lomov

Student of the Year Award:

This award is being given to the student whom teachers have described as kind and considerate. This student is always willing to help their classmates. Teachers have also commended this student for their consistent hard work and excellent standard of classwork and homework. We would like to thank this student for bringing so much to the 1st year group. Congratulations to Emily Keogh Carpenter

Poppy Centre Award Winners!

The winners of the Academic Awards in Poppy Centre are going to two students who have worked incredibly hard all year on all academic endeavours with no challenge too hard.

Congratulations to Rebecca Moiselle, Conor Minton and Conor O’Callaghan.

Next we have our Poppy Centre Endeavour awards. These awards go to incredibly hard working students, who all year long have seen no task too big to achieve.

Congratulations to Rebecca McCann, Oscar Courtney, Katie Moyles and Faye Corcoran.

The Spirit of Holy Child is awarded to two students from Poppy Centre who are described as having a very positive attitude towards all aspects of school life. Both of these students run off the bus and into school each morning with bundles of enthusiasm and big smiles on their faces. They greet everyone on the way with great big smiles and of course an elbow! Their enthusiasm is infectious and they pass this joy onto all their classmates, teachers and SNA’S. These two students have shown great resilience and strength throughout the year to keep the energy levels high in their respective classes and encouraging everyone to work and learn!

Student of the Year Award:

In Holy Child our motto is Actions and Words and Our Poppy Centre student of the year certainly lives up to this. They have been described as being courteous, polite and always ready to help…so helpful to the point of regularly helping Margaret in the office. They are someone who will always greet you with a smile on their face, is excited to be in school and loves a good dance…as long as the song is right!! They are described as someone who has a serious desire to learn and be the best they can be at all times. No task is too big for this student.They represent their peers on the Student Council and are an extremely positive role model for all students. This student is incredibly caring towards all her friends in the Poppy Centre and as a consequence they turn to her for help as they know she’ll be there for them.

The winner of the award for Endeavour goes to a very hard working student, Congratulations to Millie Cowley

The Spirit of Holy Childin 2nd year has been described as a very kind, respectful, while also respected by their peers, helpful, responsible student. This student always participates and makes the learning environment an enjoyable one. They always put their best into their work and are always very grateful for any help they receive. Student of the Year Award:

Teachers have described this 2nd Year student as a brilliant student, who works hard at everything they do, helpful towards their peers and staff whenever needed. They can enjoy themselves while also committing to learning, advancing and stretching themselves beyond what has been simply requested or required. They serve as a formidable role model within the 2nd year group, unafraid to call time on distraction, reminding others why we are here with a charming force. The winner of the Academic award in 3rd year is a highly motivated and inquisitive learner, Noah Lawrence

The winner of the award for Endeavour goes to the very creative and hardworking Sarah White

The Spirit of Holy Childin 3rd year is awarded to a student who has been described by their teachers as kind, friendly, respectful, funny, hardworking and helpful. She willingly gives her time to help out with school occasions and has been an excellent representative for our school. She has an infectious personality and has the ability to put a smile on your face. She embodies what it means to be a Holy Child student and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award.

Student of the Year Award:

This is being awarded to a student who has been described by their teachers as an incredible hardworking student who consistently strives to do their very best. This student has a very positive attitude to school life and is extremely helpful and respectful with their peers and staff. This student has been described as someone who is very ambitious and always contributes to class lessons. She is a very kind and polite student who works hard and participates in all aspects of school life.

4th Year Award Winners!

The winner of the Academic award in 4th year is a highly motivated hard working student, Jun Brian.

The winner of the award for Endeavour goes to the well deserving and positive, Joseph Knight Kola.

The Spirit of Holy Childin 4th year has been described as hardworking, a positive influence on others, kind, helpful, thoughtful and always willing to lend a hand. They are extremely conscientious, have taken on and have welcomed all new opportunities offered to them this year. She is very enthusiastic, motivated and gets involved in all aspects of school life in Holy Child. She is good humoured, bright and cheerful. She has shown great maturity throughout the year.

Student of the Year Award:

The TY student of the Year has been described as mature, kind, polite and friendly. This student is very hard working and brings a great work ethic to class all the time. This student is positive and enthusiastic about all aspects of school life and uses their Actions and Words to be a role model for other students. Theyare very helpful and supportive to their classmates and teachers, and are team player. Hehas been described as an absolute star - an all rounder.

The Spirit of Holy Childin 5th year has been described as mature, independent, creative, hardworking, pleasant, positive, polite, helpful and reliable. This student works well with peers, is very motivated and participates well in all aspects of school life. This student also got involved with extra curricular activities particularly during International Week. HE settled into school life very easily and is eager to be part of the school community. He has also been described as a very motivated and conscientious student who strives to improve in all classes.
