Transition Year students recently took part in the exciting JFK Forensic Fun Workshop, where they stepped into the shoes of real-life investigators for the day. The hands-on workshop introduced students to the fascinating world of forensic science, combining teamwork, problem-solving, and a touch of mystery.
Led by Pat our facilitator, the TYs explored how evidence is collected and analyzed to solve crimes. They examined fingerprints, footprints, and handwriting samples, and even tested their observation skills in a mock investigation. The workshop encouraged critical thinking and attention to detail while showing how science can be applied in unexpected and exciting ways.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the chance to work together, test out forensic techniques, and uncover the “truth” behind a mystery scenario — all while learning about the real-world applications of science and technology.
The JFK Forensic Fun Workshop was both educational and entertaining, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm among the TY group. A big thank you to the visiting facilitators and to all the students for their enthusiastic participation in another memorable Transition Year experience!
