Principal’s Welcome

HCCS provides a coeducational, multi-denominational and accessible education for all in the community of Sallynoggin and the surrounding areas of Dun Laoghaire, Monkstown, Glenageary and the wider South County Dublin. We are dedicated to creating a learner-centred, caring, happy and positive environment where equality and democracy are celebrated and nurtured. We are committed to enabling students to become creative, empathetic, life-long learners who are prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century in a sustainable and ethical way.

Young people learn best when they are happy in their environment. We are a school where children find a friendly, happy and caring environment. We offer small class sizes where students can receive a personalised learning experience. In many of our subjects there are 2 teachers assigned to a class group, co-teaching in HCCS has been widely recognised as a model of best practice by the DES Inspectorate. With an emphasis on positivity, we lead students to work harmoniously, with respect for each other and we are proud of their exemplary standards of behaviour and strong work ethic.

It is the vitality of the staff and students that makes HCCSl unique. The professionalism and generosity of the staff ensure that the highest standards are expected and strived for in all aspects of school life for each child. Our school is going from strength to strength, our numbers are growing, this is a reflection of the success story that is our hard working and dedicated staff. In HCCS we understand that learning does not stop at the classroom door. Pupils are positively encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities involving both Sport and the Arts. HCCS parents support our school community in a myriad of ways and are welcome partners in fostering that atmosphere of friendliness and care that lies at the heart of the school.

Thanks to all the parents and guardians of our future students for taking the time to visit our website. We hope it helps make your decision on ‘where to send your child’, an easier one.
